Muhammad Asyraf Mohd Bakri, known professionally as Asyraf Bakri, is a Malaysian academic, artist, and researcher whose work lies at the intersection of art, science, and technology. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in New Media Design and Technology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2025, following a Master of Arts in Product and Furniture Design in 2021. His research centers on assistive technology in arts-based interventions for mental health and well-being, integrating Angklung musical instruments as tools for creative therapy, performances, and community workshops. He also delves into material research, particularly in bamboo, enriching his multidisciplinary practice through sustainable design and cultural exploration. Currently, Asyraf serves as a lecturer at Han Chiang University College of Communication, School of Applied Creative Arts and Design in Penang. His most recent project, the Angklung Healing Art Project, explores how traditional musical practices can enhance elderly care and emotional wellness. In 2025, he was appointed Editor of NuMAS: The Journal of Nusantara Malay Archipelago Scholars, contributing to regional academic discourse. Additionally, from 14 March to 30 September 2025, he serves as Chairman of the Kuliah Berseri/Bersiri Mazhab Nusantara, a collaborative initiative organized by the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), USM, in partnership with Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia, Peneleh Institute, and Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.
